We bought our home just north of the town of Bowmanville in September 2009. Situated on a beautiful forested 6 acres, near the edge of town where the houses stop and the farms begin, we envisioned starting a naturist B&B, to make new friends and help spread the word about naturism. Previously we lived in Scarborough and didn't have the privacy to be nude outside in our own backyard. Hopefully someday people can be free to be nude (as long as non-sexual and non-intimidating) on their own property or on public beaches. But, until that happens, please join us on our own little private nudist oasis.
We are Ron & Lan, husband and wife, married in 2001. We have two beautiful daughters and a golden retriever.
We want our B&B to be a family environment and we want you to feel as much as possible like a member of our family.
Ron
Ron was born and raised in Scarborough, Ontario in 1962. Even growing up, he was never really interested much in clothes, mostly wanting to just be comfortable. He has always been a bit shy.
Graduating from Wexford C.I. in 1981, he completed Bachelors of Math degree in 1987 in the co-op program at the University of Waterloo and a Masters of Math in 1989, also at University of Waterloo, specializing in computer graphics. After graduating university, Ron started work as a software developer for Alias Research in 1989 in downtown Toronto. Alias was later purchased by SGI and then by Autodesk. So, Ron is now working as a software developer for Autodesk.
Ron moved to a 10 acre farm in Uxbridge in 1994, raised chickens and sold fresh eggs to his co-workers. This gave him his first opportunity to be nude outside -- Ron especially loves gardening nude.
At the time, not knowing of any naturist places in the Toronto area, in 1997 Ron went to Ottawa for a weekend and very much enjoyed his first naturist experience at The Grand Barn.
Divorced in 1998, moved back to the city, remarried in 2001, re-introduced to naturism by visiting and joining Bare Oaks in 2007 and now once again living in the country, it has been quite a journey getting here.
Ron hopes to over time, create a naturist oasis, retreat, sanctuary, haven, here in the town of Bowmanville. For him, it's about becoming a part of our beautiful natural world around us and to live in harmony with the natural world. And by removing our clothes, we can feel a closeness and more a part of the nature that surrounds us.
Being nude is a large part of this experience, but it's much more, a philosophy to learn about and live in harmony with our beautiful natural world. Over the coming years, Ron hopes to study and learn about the nature of the forest that surrounds him.
Living in harmony with nature means Ron will work from home as often as he can, drive seldom, and never use chemicals or pesticides or fertilizers. To his wife's displeasure, sometimes the grass may be a bit tall in spots. To Ron, tall grass and clover and wild, native plants is a thing of beauty -- full of so much life. However, Ron is only human and biting insects such as mosquitoes can be extremely bothersome. So Ron did give in and bought a Mega Catch mosquito killing machine -- not sure yet how well it's working, but sadly it's catching a lot of moths as well. It's hard to say if moths are good or not, for caterpillars can be extremely destructive to plants and trees.
This website is created and maintained by Ron, so when you see "I" is mentioned, it's Ron who's speaking.
Lan
Lan was born in Chengdu China, in the Sichuan province , in 1975. She's 13 years younger than Ron.
Lan is quite a wonderful singer, winning first place in a singing contest at her college in China. Karaoke singing is quite a popular pastime in China. And she became quite a star and known for her singing at Bare Oaks -- especially for her rendition of The Way We Were, by Barbra Streisand.
While she was living and working in China, in March 2001 she found Ron on the internet and started writing to him. Love quickly blossomed. In October 2001, Ron flew to China to meet Lan for the first time and they got married 2 weeks later. Ron then went back to Canada and they waited patiently to be together again. Exactly one year went by, Lan's immigration was approved, she packed up her things and came to Canada for the first time.
A year later, in November 2003, their first daughter was born. And 4 years later, November 2007, their second daughter, came into this world as well.
Goldie
If you stay with us, you will no doubt meet our very friendly golden retriever puppy. She is well behaved, but she sometimes gets over excited, especially when seeing new people.
Goldie was born in the summer of 2009 and we bought her in September 2009, during the week of our very busy and hectic move to our new home.
